  • Ashraf Shaikh, Chair of the Town of Erie Home Rule Charter Commission

I am excited to endorse Ben Hemphill for Erie Town Council. After working with Ben on the Erie Home Rule Charter Commission, I appreciate his strong character, as well as his data-driven approach to gathering information and making decisions. I have seen him take the same approach since then, in his other endeavors, such as on the Town of Erie Planning Commission, and I believe he would be a much-needed and welcome addition to our Town Council.

  • Ari Harrison, Former Erie Town Councilor (2020-2024)

After nine years of public service to Erie—including 4.5 years on the Planning Commission as Vice Chair and four years on the Town Council during the pandemic—I know what local government costs. My family can attest to the sacrifice required.

Growing up in a military family, I learned that leadership means honesty, integrity, and duty, even when it's unpopular. That's why I fully endorse Ben Hemphill for Erie Town Council, District 2.

As an engineer, Planning Commissioner, and our neighbor, Ben brings the same values that guided my tenure:

    Transparency over spin

    Resident safety over corporate interests

Smart growth that preserves Erie's character

Affordability for families who call us home

Public office exists to serve residents, not the other way around. Having served on DRCOG and the Consortium of Cities, I trust Ben to represent Erie's interests beyond our borders.

Vote Ben Hemphill this election. Our town deserves a leader who understands what this role demands.

  • Rose Murphy, Erie Resident

I had the opportunity to serve on the Sustainability Advisory Board with Ben before he moved on to the Planning Commission. He always took the time to thoroughly research any issue. His ideas and proposals showed that he had carefully considered the ramifications of proposed solutions to complicated problems. He will make a well-informed Council Member who cares passionately for the town and the environment and is willing to listen to all sides before proposing or voting on solutions.
